PREFACE.
In presenting this, the first Brrind Book published in llie Canadian Northwest, we beg leave to state that grent pains have been taken in its preparation.
Question sheets were sent t(i all asking for their Brands ; we alao procurcil a copy of the Recorded Brands, and Mr. L. G. Henderson made a thorouy;li personal canvas through the 3tock Districts.
Notwithstanding all this care some errors are liable to occur, and constant changes of ownership of Brands are taking place, and new Brands are con- stantly coming into force.
The publisher will be glad to have all errors and changes • lomptly reported to him, in order that our nex^ edition may be as correct as possible.
We lake this opportunity of thanking our many friends for their hospitality and lil)eral patronage, and hope that this book will prove of great value to, and meet the entire appropriation of, the ranchers of the Canadian Northwest, and be of service to the public generally.
